Checking your histogram, focus and composition outdoors is easy with Hoodman's HoodLoupe.
HoodLoupe is worn around your neck just like a normal loupe. When you wish to review your shot, simply place the Hoodloupe™ on the image on your LCD and place your eye up to the rubber eye cup for comfortable glare free viewing.
Hoodloupe™ has a +/-3 diopter compensation and focusses just like a binocular eyepiece - the eyepiece turns left or right to adjust for your eyesight.
Each Hoodloupe ™ has protective rubber in key areas for both comfort and protection from general wear and tear. The Hoodloupe has a diameter of 3" so will fit completely over most 3" D-SLR and camcorder screens.
What you should know about LOUPE MAGNIFICATION and LCD SCREENS...
The HoodLoupe 3.0 is engineered to give you a true 1 to 1 LCD screen image. It is built using German glass optics from Schott allowing a plus or minus 3 diopter adjustment.
Some competitors who do not understand LCD screen viewing will offer you a single lens magnifying solution as well. You will find as we did, that magnification just makes the pixels of an LCD screen bigger resulting in image distortion.
Making the call on focus is very difficult when your image is over pixilated through optical magnification. The HoodLoupe 3.0 uses 3 German glass lenses in its optical solution and is guaranteed to give you the best optical solution for viewing your LCD screen in the field. A comfortable lanyard and padded leather belt case are included.
Taking into account all of the above, we have still been asked for a magnifier for the Hoodloupe and as it's Hoodman's policy to try wherever possibel to satisfy customer demand, we have introduced, as an optional accessory, the HMAG3.0 a 3x magnifier built into a Hoodeye with a slightly larger eyecup.

Cinema Strap for DSLRs - £19.40
The 'Cinema Strap' enables you to attach the Hoodman Hoodloupe™ 3.0 onto the back of your D-SLR for excellent screen clarity with no reflections when using any HD video facility the camera may have or a 'Live View' function if your camera has one.
The 'Cinema Strap' is fully adjustable so will fit the smaller DSLRs with HD Video / Liveview such as the Canon 500D right up to the larger DSLRs with HD video such as the Canon 5D MkII or Nikon D90 even when they are used with the battery grip.
Hoodeye for Hoodloupe 3.0 - £27.58
HoodEYE 3.0 is designed for use on the HoodLoupe 3.0 for improved LCD screen viewing. The hypoallergenic silicone rubber HoodEYE is an oversized eyecup with a temple flair that does a great job of sealing out all light when outdoors. A slip ring mount allows for diopter adjustment with the eyecup pressed up to your eye. Right or left eyed does not matter...simply rotate the HoodEYE to where you want it. Mounting HoodEYE is easy...simply pull the original eye cup from your HoodLoupe and mount the HoodEYE 3.0 in its place.
NEW HoodMag Eyecup for Hoodloupe 3.0 - £37.00
Your new HoodMAG 3.0 is designed to replace the original HoodLoupe 3.0 eyecup or the HoodEye 3.0. Remove your current rubber eyecup and mount new HoodMAG by pushing it over the viewing end of the HoodLoupe. Please note that the HoodMAG has a slightly tighter fit than the original eyecup. The slip ring mounted within your HoodMAG eyecup will allow diopter adjustment without rotating the eyecup. Diopter adjustment remains the same, just twist the HoodLoupe diopter ring in or out to set for your vision. Click image for a closer look
Hoodriser for Hoodloupe 3.0 - £27.58
The new Hoodman HoodRiser attachment enables the HoodLoupe 3.0 to work very well on 3.5" to 4" inch LCD screens.
As a specific example, (shown opposite) it fits very well on the outer edge of the 3.5" Sony EX1 LCD screen surround for full screen viewing.
Camcorder Mount Strap - £23.49
The Camcorder Mount Strap enables you to attach your Hoodman Hoodloupe™ 3.0 onto the LCD Display of your camcorder which will afford perfect viewing with no stray light or reflections to make viewing difficult in bright conditions.
It is simple to attach to both the Hoodloupe and the Camcorder's LCD screen as it is custom made to fit the Loupe and uses Velcro for a secure fastening around the back of the LCD screen. The image opposite shows the HCAM4 attached to a Hoodloupe with Hoodriser on the 3.5" LCD screen of the Sony XL1.
